ABOUT US
Conceived in late 2002 and
born September 11 2003, NURSES CARD is the brainchild of Humayun
Peters and Mike McAuliffe.
Read

Both had extensive first-hand
experience, as patients, of the workplace reality of being a
Nurse.
Both were distressed during
the nurses' industrial action in Qld during 2002 distressed
that, no matter how much they wanted to, they could not do anything
to directly influence the take-home salary of Nurses.
So, for this pair of Brisbane
businessmen, the Vision became very clear to
maximize the effectiveness, the purchasing power, of every dollar
a Nurse receives.
In other words, frustrated
that they couldn't increase the QUANTITY of the salary, they
determined to increase its QUALITY.
Sadly, Humayun
lost his battle with multiple myeloma in April, but the flame
he lit is burning brightly. His wife, Arlene, is working closely
with Mike and Rose McAuliffe to see his Vision come to reality.

VISION STATEMENT
To express our appreciation
of, and gratitude to, Nurses for their invaluable contribution
to our society
AND
To recognize that Nurses' efforts will never be properly measured
by the size of their salary

Enhancing the effectiveness and buying power of their income
at selected business houses which share these views.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our Mission is to facilitate
the coming together of at least 500 businesses in approx. 100
categories which agree to extend respect,
unparalleled quality of service, and financial advantages
to our Nurse members who shop with them.
